For just short of 900 years, this parish has been a site of Christian worship, community and service, blessed with magnificent architecture. Today, all the work of our two splendid churches continues to be sustained by the stewardship of our congregations.
All Christians are called to stewardship. As stewards, we celebrate and give thanks for the joy and inspiration we find through our local church. As stewards, we give what we can, in time and money. It is about our responsibility not to the church, but as the church.
St Mary's and St Matthew's receives no money from the state or the Church of England.
If you feel called to be a steward, please email the firstname.lastname@example.org and ask for Stewardship details.
Our emphasis is on sacramental worship (the Mass or Holy Eucharist) celebrated in a traditional Anglo-Catholic style, with strong orthodox teaching and preaching, supportive pastoral care, a caring parish family, and responsibility to our community and the greater world.
The Church is a Field Hospital for Sinners.
